This is my attempt to make my life a little easier and to assign text labels to the ID numbers that the HCS II puts on the lLOG data. Included in this zip file is an executable file, l.exe and the Quick Basic source code in the file HCS_MODS.BAS. The program was written and the executable made in Quick Basic 4.5. You can modify the HCS_MODS.BAS file to change the labels that I have assigned to the log data ID numbers to whatever will suit your application. The way I use the program, I output the log data to the floppy disk in my PC and name the file LOG.TXT. The executable, l.exe, when it is run will look on the floppy (must be a: drive but you can change this in the BAS file) for the LOG.TXT file and attach the text labels to the ID numbers. When it has completed this, it will output a new file, named, LOGX.TXT on the a: drive floppy disk. You can then print or view the file and the log data will have the labels attached to the data collected to give it additional meaning and to save from going back to the HCS code to find out what is the meaning of the data that was logged. If I forgot something or you can supply some additional input/ideas, whatever, drop me an e-mail on the Circuit Cellar BBS. Enjoy. Mike
